Blizzard aftermath at the ranch
Submitted by mickiebon on Thu, 02/15/2007 - 7:05am.

sorry, haven't been online for a while. got sick with i think the flu. 102*F temp for 5 days and hacking my lungs up, lol. feeling a little better today. was suppose to go get my taxes done today but don't know if H&R Block will be open or if they are letting us out on the roads for stuff other than emergencies yet. anybody have a clue? the last update i seen about it was updated yesterday at 4pm and it stated we were still under "emergency only" allowed out to drive.
anywho, here are some pics from the ranch. last time it snowed i thought "wow, finally, the county did not forget about plowing us all out". but i was wrong, lol, i caught the good samaritan on my dig. cam. doing it for us. it was one of our neighbors and he decided to stop and help my son who was trying to dig out my explorer and the driveway. i have been too sick to go out and try to help. have had just enough energy to take care of the horses and that's about it. it makes me so mad that the county does not plow our little dead end road out all the way down to the end. they only plow up to where the bus stop for the kids is and then leave the rest of us stranded. my poor neighbor, who owns the 30+ acre farm, down at the end of the road called me yesterday. she said her husband had gotten stuck at a relatives house during the storm and was not able to make it through back home. she was running out of propane because the propane company had not made the delivery on Monday like they were suppose to and she was stuck and could not get out. luckily our neighbor was trying his best to get everything cleared as fast as he could and i think everything turned out for the best. i told her to call me if she needed anything, i had some kerosene and a heater she could use if needed, but i have not heard from her yet. i'll be calling her today to make sure everything is ok.
well, enough venting for me, lol. here are the pics!

Glad your feeling better now
Sorry to hear you have been feeling bad. Glad your back. I myself feel like my body has been beaten up with all this soreness from snow removal. :) Sure glad this does'nt happen every year.
glad to be back
thanks! glad to be back and feeling a little better. i still have not decided if i would rather have to deal with the blizzard type snows or the ice storms Indiana is so known for, lol.
I would much rather have the
I would much rather have the snow instead of the ice. The ice brings the trees down on the power lines. We have been suffering from cabin fever but atleast we were warm because the power stayed on.
