let me tell you all something about some bikers, i don't remember who my nephew said they were but he told me (he is in the military) that he was doing some burials for some service men who died that were killed over seas recently, some protesters against the war were blocking the cemetery entrance and the family couldn't pass by nor could they, when a bunch of biker guys showed up and started tossing the protesters out of the way, they even got the people out of the grave hole so the caskets could be put in...my nephew and the other service men shook hands with them and really appreciated it, my hats off to all those bikers and all bikers who stand up for whats right....

The Legion Riders as I said before is a great
group of people. They are NOT like the old
groups that cause trouble. They ARE here for
the community. I do stand corrected on one
thing they are not a CLUB; they are an
organization; just like the American Legion.
They are memebers of The Legion. They just
like to ride thier bikes and help the communities
and hospitals. Just think of it this way.
What if someone in your families gets sick or
hurt and you don't have enough money to pay
the Dr. and hospital bills. If it was not for
organizations like the Legion and the riders
and they help you out; would you still feel the
same about them? Like I said The Riders are
here for the COMMUNITY. Not for themselfs.

If you are refering to the bikers who are out at t-way, we are not a biker club. Yes we do have some American Legion riders in our group, business owners, construction workers, ministers, factory workers, old timers. We are a good bunch of people, like i stated days ago we do benefit rides and give back to the needy and the community, people will come to us with problems and if we feel we can help out we try to figure a way of helping those in need. So, i would not judge us because one day we may be helping someone out that you know. At this time we are planning a benefit ride for saving our family pets and donating the money to the humane society. BIKERS ARE NOT BAD PEOPLE! We are every day people like you

The Legion Riders are not like the old bikers.
Just like someone else has already said. Some
of them are old veterans, we also have a new
group coming out of the war. They are just
as good as the old timers. They are not coming
to Elwood to cause trouble. They are coming to
be here for the COMMUNITY just as the American
Legion is. By the way most of them if not all
are also in the American Legion. So whats so
bad about them. By the way I DO have bikers
in my back yard, side yard and up the street from me.
They are not so bad either.

You need to go back a few days and find the following forum called Legion Bikers. The following is the text of
that forum. I re-read my post and did not say that they were not the American Legion, because I know that they
were from the post on June 21st. and talking to Bev at the Memorial Day Parade. And about the bikers moving
in my back yard... with all the noise on 19th street, I probably wouldn't notice. Now you can read the
message......

The Legion Riders will be joining the American Legion
Post 53. Very soon. I have heard talk that they
are not wanted here. They are a good organization.
They don't cause any trouble, The Riders are for the
community as well as The American Legion is. They
Ride for good causes, like Rileys and other hospitals.
I was told that some people think that they are leaving
trash down by the DQ and The Dollar Market. But if
people would also look at our youth, they would see that they
are down there. I know that the Riders pick up anything
that they are using.

Thank you for your EAR
B Murray

A biker club? These are not the bikers of old... they are just old! Old veterans!! Men and women who have
served their country to give you the freedom to own a back yard! Men and women who are law abiding citizens
who enjoy getting together in a common place who praise the country and the flag for which it stands who will
protect you in a minute!! That is the 'Biker Club'. Perhaps your view needs to be updated. I do not know
any of the American Legion Bikers... but I guarantee you they are not the stuff of movies where they rape,
murder and pillage the community!! They are Moms and Dads, Grandmas and Grandpas and maybe even a few Greats
in there. What a great lesson for the youngsters of your neighborhood.

You are right they are not the American Legion Biker Club. But they are indeed a BIKER CLUB. I have nothing against the A.L. I think they are a wonderful group of people. However having a bunch of BIKERS is not what I want. Update my views? Well maybe you should let a BIKER CLUB move in your back yard.

Oh Please tell me what I heard isn't true. I was told that we are going to have a Biker Club move into the new American Legion. Now that is something that we just don't need. What about the people that lives near that place. Do we not have a say so as to who or what moves in there? I do not want a Biker Club in my back yard.
