Artist's rendition of the new CVS
The new CVS store will be 13, 225 sq.ft. compared to the existing store at 9,777 sq.ft.and be located directly to the north of the old CVS. The old CVS will remain open during construction of the new CVS Store. The Anderson Street entrance/exit will be almost directly to the west of North "A" Street. This entrance will allow access to parking, but more importantly it will be the entrance for the one way drive thru pharmacy to be located on the northwest corner of the new building. The drive thru will exit out at the Maiin Street entrance/exit that will be approximately where the front doors to the Wonder Bar/Village Cafe are now. The main parking area of 50+ spaces will be located in front of the new store where the existing CVS now sits. An additional 20+ parking spaces will be located on the east side of the new building. The front of the new CVS will face the south (Main Street). The final landscaping plans includes 9 shade trees and 184 shrubs/perrenials. The shade trees include 2 Red Maple, 5 Thornless Honeylocust and 2 Centurion Crabapple. The lanscape plan is extensive and should go a long way to help beautify downtown Elwood.

Yes I agree. Thanks Bill for keeping us informed! It's nice to know what's going on in town from someone who actually knows ;-)
Thanks Again!
Thanks for posting that Bill! Do you know if the parking lot will include islands for trees or shrubs?
That is a big area along the street sides to have only 9 trees! The lot islands would make it look less
like another open parking lot. Just an opinion don't ya know!! LOL!
