Replay from Tammy :)

the house that caught fire was on 21st and L ..(fact)..talked to some eyewitness they said it was on fire then blew..a bus driver went into the back door when she saw it was on fire and got blown out, 3 people went to the hospital...(all accounts, their version) now an older gentleman told some people standing around he'll probable go to jail for that, so i asked a gal why he said that, she said "he probable feels its his fault for lighting a cig. around oxygen"..but you see she thought it blew and that's what started the fire. Now dont take this as fact, there were a couple of versions going around about weather it was on fire first or blew first..guess youll have to read the real news in the paper..and thats the way it was ..or appears to be lol...

[ADMIN NOTE] I reprinted this info from another post from Tammy. Thanks for the info Tammy :)

Very good reporting! Thanks for all of the info. Your one sentence: "and that's the way it was ..or appears to be lol..." just cracks me up for some reason, it makes me laugh everytime I read it. I'm glad that everyone is ok.

Yes, Excellent Reporting :)

And you can only find it on Elwoodindiana.org, lol :)

Thanks for the Reporting

That is my yard in the back ground of all these pictures Just beyond the open field. I am so glad everyone is safe. I would not have known anything about it if you all were not keeping us informed. I work an hour away so it is hard to get updated info on local happenings. Because I heard about it here I could have someone make sure my dogs were not too freaked out and no windows were broken. Thanks again

Speaking of reporting...

Yes, Al, very good job getting out there and getting pictures posted so fast. I looked out the window and saw the smoke and though Oakland was on fire and got out there ASAP because my daughter had just left a few minutes prior for school. Of course when I got there I couldn't believe all of the people just there to sight-see, so once more, I took time out of my busy/hectic schedule to VOLUNTEER to direct traffic. Ok, so I wasn't busy, I was trying to sleep! :o)

Oh, back to reporting...how hard would it be to get a new reporter at the Call-Leader THAT CARES and reassign Metina Miller? I'll leave it at that for now....

Apperently someone was hurt.

Apperently someone was hurt. Supposedly they flew someone to Indy that was hurt. I do not know names but the family members are still trying to get all the info. and the bus driver was taken to the hospital.

The Driver

The bus driver was Jill Murray, she had just dropped my children off at school (we live by the shcool, but my kids catch the bus from a relatives house) the paper stated when she passed by she went up to the house to be sure there were no children or anyone else in the house and it blew her back, from what I am gathering I think she is ok though.

For those who don't get the paper go to this site, click on Elwood then on Local Headlines, they have a picture and story as well. http://www.elwoodpublishing.com/

FIRE

I was there some of the facts are misprinted in the newspaper but to let you know Jill Murray is ok the older man was transported lifeline to indy last I heard he was in ICU but was stable
