Katelyn comes home

“Our prayers have been answered. Our daughter, Katelyn, returned home safely to us on Sunday, July 4. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your prayers and concern for us during the last month.
Special thanks go to Marcie Phillips Frazee for her website and organizing the prayer vigil. Also, to Mayor Taylor, the Elwood Police Force, the Madison County Detectives, and the many generous people who came forward offering money for the reward.
The words “Thank You” can never say enough to our family, friends, and even total strangers who gave us strength just by letting us know we were in your thoughts and prayers.

A candlelight vigil and prayer service for the safe return home of Katelyn Jones was held at 7 PM on Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Elwood City Hall plaza fountain. The event was sponsored by the "Help Find Katelyn Jones" Facebook group and Mayor Merrill Taylor.

Katelyn ran away from home on Saturday, June 5 leaving her parents a note without any indication of where she was going. According to Jodi Jones, a charcoal gray, SUV picked her daughter up at their home sometime between 11 a.m. and noon.

Katelyn took personal items including her pillow, teddy bears clothing and her personal contacts. Katelyn just finished her junior year at Elwood Community High School.

Jodi is asking anyone Katelyn has contacted or anyone with information on Katelyn’s whereabouts to contact the Elwood Police Department at 552-3376 or the Madison County Sheriff’s Department at 646-9285.

The 5th Annual Elwood Community Fair is a yearly fun event for the whole family that is sponsored by the Elwood Ministerial Association & local area Churches. The event held on June 12, 2010 at Callaway Park included FREE Food, Drinks, Snacks, Games, Bouncies, Puppets, A Petting Zoo, Entertainment on stage & More.
