Glass Festival contest applications being taken

The Elwood Glass Festival is fast approaching and contest applications are being taken at the Elwood Chamber of Commerce.

The Glass Festival Karaoke Contest, sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Eagles is set for Friday, August 15 at 5:30 p.m. on the St.Vincent Mercy Hospital Main Stage. This year a junior division has been added. Entry cost is $5 with $300 in total prize money being awarded.

The 10th Annual Talent Show will be Sunday, August 17 at 2 p.m. New this year is a category breakdown including vocal, instrumental, dance and tumbling and novely. Entry cost is $5 with $300 in total prize money being awarded.

The Tiny Tot Trot and Pedal Car Races are at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 16 at the Elwood Community High School Stadium.

The Elwood Glass Festival Committee is sponsoring the second annual Elwood Glass Festival Cutest Baby Contest during the Glass Festival. Penny votes will determine the winners. Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners, which will be announced at 4 p.m. at the main stage.
The contest is open to babies born between July 31, 2007 and August 1, 2008. Birth certificate must be presented when turning in the application.
