How Are BAPTISTs Saved? (Or ARE They?)

News Item Comment:
Frank Page, Baptist president recently addressed the assembly, urging a unification of the fragmented Baptist organization.
"There are forces at work today to try to divide and distract Baptists from our primary mission. We cannot allow methodological differences, generational gaps, or stylistic preferences to divide us"
----------------------------------------------------
Methodological differences?
Generational gaps?
Stylistic preferences?
Are these the issues that have divided the Baptists into more than 52 different entities? If Frank Page believes this, then he might as well stay home and sit this one out as well!
No, the many factions have divided over more serious issues than what Page perceives. They are divided over the basic doctrine of Christianity. How are you going to unite these groups that cannot agree on the requirements that God has proclaimed for SALVATION?
* Is a man Saved and Sealed?
* Did God, by His divine pleasure, predestine who would be saved and who would be damned?
* Will a man lose his salvation if he fails to live up to the Christian Life.?
* At what point might a man lose his salvation if he does BACKSLIDE?
* If a man loses his salvation by sin, can he EVER be saved again?
* If a man leads a mediocre lifestyle after salvation, does that mean he was never saved to begin?
* Must a man be water baptized to be saved or is it just a ritual of demonstrating “an outward sign of an inward change?
* If a man must be water baptized to be saved, will sprinkling suffice or must it be done by submersion?
* If a man is saved, will the indwelling of the Holy Spirit be evident by the speaking of unknown tongues?
Folks, these are MAJOR differences in SALVATION requirements! These CHRISTIANS ARE NOT EVEN SAVED because they don't know the REQUIREMENTS!
Furthermore, their LEADERS don't know EITHER! How can you send evangelists in to the mission field when they can't determine the BASIC SALVATION requirements! What will they tell the heathen in a foreign land when he asks, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?
I won't just pick on the BAPTISTS here, because the other denominations are certainly NO BETTER OFF!
This isn't a disagreement over when the CATCHING UP happens; folks, THIS is SERIOUS DOCTRINAL IGNORANCE! I'm telling you now, the Christian community is in a MESS and isn't even aware of it. Each one of these fellows THINKS he is saved because he's bought into some Man's concept of religion and learned a lot of rhetoric that sounds spiritual. What the Christian community has today is 99-½ percent superstition. Narrow is the PATH folks. FEW of these are going to FIND IT!
Frank Page and all the other leaders of these religious sects and factions need to go back to the scriptures and learn WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED? These divisions aren't caused by generational gaps, or stylistic preferences. Mr. Page, you have got some real problems here and your problems are with GOD!

Are Baptists Saved
God doesn't care if you are baptist, presbyterian, methodist, catholic, etc; Jesus was sent by God the Father to die for all of us (for we have all sinned).
Jesus also said ,"no man cometh to the Father but by me."
I am a baptist, I was raised a baptist, but I go to a different church now and I still believe with all my heart that when I asked Jesus to come into my heart and save me, He did so!. That was many, many years ago. Times I have failed Him, I asked Jesus to forgive me and really meaning it, I know that he forgave me. I know that when my time comes, I will be in heaven.
Does God acknowledge "Invite Jesus into your heart?"
In the various false doctrines of churchianity, many people are given hope in futile religions. A study of God's Word will reveal that to "invite Jesus into your heart" is not scripture, but a rhetorical, spiritually-sounding phrase that seems to be one of the inventions of John Calvin. As a fact, none of the denominations you mentioned profess belief in the requirements for salvation according to the KJV Word of God.
You are one of the many thousands of victims of false teachers.
"For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works" (II Corinthians 11:13-15).
There are many popular methods of salvation that are not of God, but are doctrines of men. According to the KJV, people today are NOT saved by:
* Repent and invite Jesus into your heart
* Turn from sin and make Jesus the Lord of your life
* Repent and be baptized
* Attain atonement by a blessing from the priest
* Ask for forgiveness and be water baptized
* Seek atonement through the divine lineage of Joseph Smith.
Satan's 'ministers of righteousness' have substituted the salvation gospel with hundreds of counterfeit standards. God has His standard and men have created all of theirs. When God required Cain to trade his vegetables for an animal from his brother, Able, for sacrifice, Cain rebelled. Cain decided he would offer his vegetables to God for the sacrifice and God would just have to like it or lump it. Not much has changed in 6000 years. Preachers ignore God's requirements and establish their own. God has never told anyone to find eternal life by "inviting Jesus into his heart."
Here is a site that compares scripture with many of the false doctrines:

Truth or Lies?
Are ‘Christian’ teachers who teach lies about God really Christians? Consider this Baptist conference: (PASTE LINK INTO BROWSER)
http://www.christianpost.com/article/20071203/30311_Southern_Baptists_Debate_Calvinism%2C_Urge_Cooperation.htm
These Baptist theologians cannot agree on this most basic aspect of SALVATION. Yet they claim to be champions of Christian Theology! Discussing the 5 points of the T-U-L-I-P;
“… Baptist theologians debated on the five points, including unconditional election – that God chooses every person who will be saved, not based on an individual's merit or on his looking forward to discover who would accept the offer of the gospel but solely upon the counsel of His own will – and limited atonement – that Christ died for the elect and not all.”
Baptists are not unique in spreading counterfeit religions in place of Christ’s truth. In scripture there is ONE Lord, ONE faith and ONE Baptism. (Not 26, not 52, not 131) Denominations are an abomination, teaching lies in the name of God.
Some say that is okay if they do some public service. Though they lead thousands of souls to Hell, they should get into heaven because they donated time and money to the local soup kitchen; Try to find that doctrine in your bible!
Want to know what the bible really says?

Calvinism Growing Among the Baptists
Nearly 30 percent of recent Southern Baptist Convention seminary graduates now serving as church pastors indicate they are Calvinists, according to Ed Stetzer, director of LifeWay Research. Only around 10 percent of SBC pastors at large affirm the five points of Calvinism, or Reformed theology, noted Stetzer, comparing the latest results with an earlier 2006 survey conducted by LifeWay Research.
The five points of Calvinism include:
Total depravity,
Unconditional election,
Limited atonement,
Irresistible grace, and
Perseverance of the saints.
"I recently read that one key Southern Baptist leader was quoted as saying the two biggest problems in Southern Baptist life are contemporary churches and Calvinists," Stetzer said. "So there is obviously a growing concern but we're here to talk and build some bridges."
"Nevertheless, Stetzer could not deny the growth of Calvinism in SBC life."
It is certain that satanic forces are strongly at work among the Baptists as they spread their heresy to the world.
Hector
how long does this have to go on
i go to a baptist church. there is no satanic works going on there. all this stuff you have talked about on here i have never even heard of in our church. hey hector, before you judge our church, why dont you join us sun. at 10:30am at charity inn on south L street. the pastor there is stan alvey. and if you hear anything to you that is not out of the bible or God's word or is satanic then fill free to say what you want but until you have been to my church, you have no right to judge it.... i dont know all about the other types of baptist churches, but there is no pretence at our church, or satanic going on's...hope to see you sunday.... tonya

This is a website about ELWOOD not churches or religion! Elwood Churches, ok maybe, but lets not bash them. This website will make newcomers cringe and think badly of Elwood if they start seeing this kind of stuff on here.
this is what i have been saying...
if you go back you will see that is all this person has done on here is bash churches in elwood...its really sad. tonya
Please tell us....
How then must we be saved Hector?
I've read your comments but haven't found anything about what we need to do to be saved.
You've pretty much covered all the "counterfeit" ways.
Please share with me and the other readers the salvation gospel that we're overlooking. If you think I'm in error (but sure I'm not) about my salvation I want to know! And I'm sure God would want you to tell me!
I remember how I felt before I was "born again" and I must say, that when people shoved alot of confusing information at me in a condescending way, it turned me away from God. Fortunately, God didn't turn away from me and He sent someone with a genuine caring spirit to share God's unconditional love for me in a pleasant way.
I appreciate your attempt to "teach" people about God and His word, but I think you could soften your approach a little and maybe actually reach more people. Don't be so heavenly minded that you're no earthly good.
I'll be looking for your explanation of what I must do to be saved.
The NEW BAPTIST COVENANT 2008
Some 20,000 Baptists are expected to join a historic effort, called the New Baptist Covenant, aimed at dispelling an image of division among Baptist groups and in hopes of emerging with a new Baptist voice. The meeting is scheduled for Jan. 30-Feb. 1 in Atlanta.
Southern Baptist Convention president Frank Page said he would not take part in a "smokescreen leftwing liberal agenda" and others have alleged there are political overtones, considering the line-up of speakers and the timing of the event - which takes place during the U.S. presidential election year.
Mike Huckabee withdrew his participation from the convocation in May and commented last week that being president would be "a heck of a lot easier job than getting all the Baptists to agree on everything."
The Baptist groups supporting the New Baptist Covenant include the American Baptist Churches and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Several historically African-American Baptist denominations, including the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., have also joined the effort.
Baptists need to look at the reason WHY they are divided. They can’t agree on SALVATION; the most basic aspect of Christianity.

Jesus' Response to a Dog
Matt 15 23
But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
Matt 15 24
But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Jesus Came ONLY to the JEWS
Matt 15 23
But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
Matt 15 24
But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Why did Jesus’ disciples object to this Canaanite woman talking to them?
Why did Jesus, Himself, refuse to speak to her.
Why did Jesus call her a dog? Were Jesus and His disciples racial bigots and unwilling to show love or compassion?
No. Jesus was born under the Law. (Not just the 10 commandments but the whole 612 statutes of the Law of Moses) Besides observing all the laws of tithing, diet, holy days and circumcision, Jesus was bound to reject the presence of this woman because she was not a Jew.
Jesus and the 12 disciples would not have spoken to you if you had been present throughout Matthew, Mark, Luke and John unless you were a Jew. Even the upper room meeting at Pentecost was an exclusive Jewish holiday. Only Jews and circumcised Jewish converts (Proselytes) would have been welcome in the upper room. Anyone performing a water baptism without also circumcizing and keeping the WHOLE law was performing only foolishness. All men had to be water baptized, circumcised and followers of the whole 612 statutes or they were not allowed in the presence of the Jews.
This is why Jesus “…answered her not a word.” This is why the disciples complained to Jesus that “…she crieth after us.” This is why Jesus called her a dog.
No uncircumcised Gentiles were ever described as “sheep.” These were considered “dogs.” Jesus had compassion upon her only after she acknowledged that she indeed was a dog and was willing to accept the crumbs that fell from the children’s table.
Salvation for all mankind throughout the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and the beginning of Acts was exclusively by Judaism. We need to believe the bible and we need to believe Jesus. When He said; “I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” That is EXACTLY what he MEANT.
John 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
Hector
refering to the woman
wheb you quote the bible give the whole facts..... the woman was a Canaan and cried for him to heal her daughter, he did not reply. his disciples urged him to send her away and he answered
Matt: 15:24 i was not sent except to the lost sheep of the the house of Israel.
but then if you had went on it says
verse 25 she came and worshiped him saying Lord help me!
26: says But he answered and said, It is not good to take the childrens bread and throw it to the little dogs. he was repling to her...he is now in conversation with her because now she replies to him in verse 27
and she said yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from the masters table.
Then he goes on to talk to her in what sounds to me to be a joyous tone
verse 28. The Jesus answered and said to her O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done as you desire. and her daughter was healed from that very hour.
so he did talk to her before he refered to her as a dog. you need to really quit messing with the scritures. tell the whole story if your going to put something down in here. not just how you think it should be.
and lets not forget John 3:16
that God so loved the world (the whole world, not just the jews) that he sent his only begotten son, the WHOEVER believes in Him shall not perish but have ever lasting life.
In the bible Jesus talked to people who where not jews. what about the roman soldier that Jesus healed his servent? and the woman at the well.
Jesus Came ONLY to the HOUSE of ISRAEL
It’s good that you took the time to read the passage in context. Like most of the bible, the significance is mostly lost in the churches. To understand what makes this story truly remarkable, we need to understand something about Jewish society in those days. If the bible says that 1000 were present, the reference is typically made only of the men. There would probably be around 2000 to 2500 persons involved in most such cases.
This is because women and children were considered little more than property in that society. A Jewish woman received her instruction from her father, brothers, husband and from other Jewish women. Jewish women would not usually go outside their families for religious instruction.
Think of the family Brittany spaniel going to a neighboring farm to obtain training on hand and voice commands. The neighbor would not provide the training because it would be an insult to the dog’s owner. It would be absurd! The dog would be severely punished upon returning home. The Jewish women wouldn’t likely go outside the family to Jewish men or even to the rabbi unless there was a very extreme situation.
Yet here we have a story of a NON-Jewish woman coming directly to Jesus’ disciples. They were appalled and horrified to say the least. This is what makes the story so astounding!
Jesus' purpose on earth was to bring the nation Israel into belief in accepting their Messiah and thereby becoming God’s priests to the heathen nations. The Jews (who had foreknowledge of His coming) predominantly refused to believe Him or to accept Him.
Yet here we have a NON-Jewish (heathen) woman coming directly to Jesus’ disciples without her (circumcised, law-abiding) husband, father or brother! This is a display of incredible faith! Jesus took the opportunity to use this situation as an example of her faith to His disciples and to the unbelieving Jews. It is a very remarkable story and it was recorded in the bible for us to see this great example of faith in action.
You mentioned John 3:16. Again, let’s look at it in context:
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Okay, we have the story of the Canaanite woman and you imply that Jesus came to all mankind because of John 3:16 in spite of His own words that clearly tell us that He did not. Jesus came ONLY to the LOST SHEEP of the HOUSE of ISRAEL. (Baptist preachers themselves, do not believe this part of the bible!)
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Salvation to all men was available during Jesus’ time on earth. Would anyone be so foolish as to think they might be saved through Christianity? Christianity DID NOT EXIST in the book of John. There existed the heathen religions of the Gentiles and there was Judaism of the Jews. For salvation, Judaism was the only game in town. (You know- be circumcised, be water baptized, pay tithes, offer sacrifices, observe the holy days, etc.)
John 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
In the book of John, only the Jews had access to God. Jesus was present as a Jew, fulfilling the Law of Moses. If you were a Canaanite, a Jebusite or an Amorite, you would have to go to the Jews for salvation, be circumcised, water baptized and become a Jewish Proselyte to achieve salvation. This was indeed the situation throughout the books of the 4 gospels.
Jesus came to lead Israel into belief as a nation of priests. The Israeli nation would then dispense God’s salvation to the rest of the world. Yes, whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. That belief required the works of the Law. Just as Jesus performed it and just as James said it:
James 2:14 (through 2:21 for context)
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
So we see, Judaism is NOT Christianity and Christianity is NOT Judaism. The two are different.
Hector
Is Our Salvation by JUDAISM or CHRISTIANITY?
Judaism was God's only valid means of salvation from Leviticus to the book of Acts. So WHEN did Christianity appear? Certainly not in Mark, Matthew, Luke or John.
Jesus introduced Christianity into an exclusively Jewish system when He presented the ‘revelation of the mystery’ to Paul on the road to Damascus. He made Paul the first member of the Body of Christ (a new creation) that had not been revealed since the beginning of time.
Jesus taught many new doctrines to Paul that had never before been revealed. For the first time we have salvation by faith (without the works of the law), the Body of Christ (a new creation), loss of Israel’s status as a favored nation, (the equality of Jew & Gentile), the ONE baptism (not of water), a new and different commission to preach the gospel, a Heavenly position for members of His new creation, Christ as the Head of the Body, etc.
1 Cor 14:37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I (Paul) write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
Gentiles were not lifted up to enjoy an equal ‘favored status’ with Israelites. Indeed, Israel was cast down to the same level as we Gentiles (dogs) because of their unbelief. Today, Jews are ‘lo ami’ (not My people) and are on equal footing with all the rest of mankind.
Today, Satan is creating corrupt, invalid religions by injecting various elements of Christianity into the old Jewish program that God had with Israel over 2000 years ago. The only salvation that God presently offers to mankind today is through Christianity (not Judaism) and not through the many vile false religions of man (the denominations).
