Let's build up Elwood

Ok, I know there are those people in the community that wish to keep Elwood small, BUT there are also those of us that want Elwood to grow and offer more to younger familes and give us more incentive to stay here. What does it take to get our community to grow, bring in new businesses, etc.? Mr. Savage (Bill), are you trying to market Elwood to various businesses and trying to bring in new and exciting things to our city for entertainment, dining, etc? What does it take to market the commercial/industrial aspects of Elwood for new businesses to locate here? With the increasing number of abandoned houses, it's obvious that the population of our city is moving out and not growing. I have searched online for various businesses in the past and have made contact with some in reference to looking at locating in Elwood and have recieved positive responses, but without the cooperation of local government, it won't happen. Use your contacts in local, county, and state government to try to lure businesses to Elwood. If we don't do something soon, there's not going to be anything left, and there will be no reason for any of us to stay!

Whatever happened to the Walgreens?
Whatever happened to the Walgreens that was supposed to build here? A new pharmacy would breed competetion!! A new business could lead to other new businesses, so why hasnt it happened yet?
I also heard that we were losing a very popular bar to a buyout by CVS for expansion and parking. Anyone else heard this? Just wondering if its true. I am all for an expansion to CVS but losing another business-'eh not so much.
Confirmed
I emailed Brian from Sam's a while back and he confirmed that CVS did buy the building. He said he wasn't sure about where or when they would move though, depends on some factors he has no control over. So what's going to happen now? The steakhouse downtown appears to not be happening, Jim Dandy is still empty, and we continue to lose businesses. I was hoping that we would all get a least a few answers on here today, but it didn't happen. Can we say GHOST TOWN? I REALLY wish someon ein this town with some money would invest in a Putt-Putt/Arcade/Restaurant kind of business. I think you would be surprised at how popular it would be!
