Obama for President!

I had a nice post written and the browser crashed so I'll write it again as time permits but I'd love to debate the topic.  I hope folks are smart enough to understand that this election is terribly important and that McCain is more of the same.

One resource that I find useful is the following site.

http://www.electoral-vote.com/

It will show you a map of the US based on polls in every state as well as totals of their electoral votes.

They have Obama at 301, McCain at 224 and Ties at 13 as of now.

Also, I am going to order some Obama yard signs, so if anybody would like one then please send me a message and I'll get you one.  They are about $5 each in quantity orders.  They are Union made and, of course, the campaign gets needed money from their sale.  Indiana is actually barely leaning McCain according to the above web site.  45% to 43%.  This state could possibly go blue if we get the word out.

Really Doesn't Matter Now

Both McCain and Obama are Members of the council of foreign relations so nothing is gonna change. The Presidential Elections are just a big Joke with those two playing the CFR puppets.

Al Jordan

Obama vs McCain

I know that the days of being a bully to other countries instead of using diplomacy to provide true strength must end soon. The next Pres, or his Secretary of State, can not be afraid to openly talk and negotiate with other countries as this causes not only our allies, but our enemies to become combative and shows nothing but arrogance on our part. The current admnistration has gotten us into such a mess with not only foreign relations but with the economy and several other keys issues that will guide our future.

huh?

It is not the current administrations fault we are where we are. It is Al Qaeda ,after the 9-11 attack we are lucky to even be here. We came o so close to complete financial collapse including Wall Street , The Airlines and banking industry. If Clinton would have gotten rid of him when he had the chance, we actually had him in our sites and Clinton said to stand down. Afraid he might upset the Arabs who were there also. With out our taking it to them ,they would still be attacking inside the United States!

Obama vs McCain

I should of put in my post that I meant other contries like Iran, etc. I did not mean Afganistan as I really understand the reason for fighting terror........My bad

Then it's a joke that one of

Then it's a joke that one of these two guys are going to win. To say that nothing is going to change leads me to believe that you are referring only to our foreign policy. There are many other issues too important to ignore. Healthcare, for example. 45 Million people have no insurance and can't afford proper care. McCain will do nothing. Obama will make it possible. We are the last industrialized nation on the planet who has not nationalized healthcare in one form or another. Result; We can't compete with nations whose corporations don't have to pay employee healthcare. We also can no longer afford treatment without insurance. Costs are excessive here. Blame insurance companies and hospitals for that.

Debt. McCain wants to stay in Iraq AND keep the Bush tax cuts. Those cuts primarily benefit the wealthy among us. You can see how fast we are creating jobs with all that extra cash. NOT. We lost 84,000 jobs in August alone. Those folks were getting rich under Clinton too, but they complained that they pay all the taxes and Bush and the Republican Congress gave them what they wanted. They pay lots in taxes because they have 70% of the wealth to begin with. 10% of the people have 70% of the wealth. It stands to reason that they are paying more. They are playing a game of Monopoly and they are winning at the expense of the middle class.

The reasons are many to vote this time. They are also many to vote for Obama unless one is happy with the state of things right now.

You are 100% right. It's a unilateral approach that only serves to piss off the world and our allies in a time that allies are very important to have.

OK...Quite honestly my wife and I are swinging towards Obama and his plan on most of the issues BUT we're still looking at McCain so "on the bubble" better suits us right now. To make these posts easier to absorb maybe you can take one issue at a time and if you do not mind possibly format your posts in comparible paragraphs.

Economy?

Thanks

It is not the current

Well, well, well.

I don't know where to begin because you couldn't be more wrong.  It is the fault of George W. Bush tht we are where we are.  (Maybe that explains his dismal ratings.) Al-Qaeda was in Afghanistan and we attacked them.  Then we went to Iraq.  Iraq had no Al-Qaeda.  In fact, Saddam Hussein hated those guys.  Iraq was well contained and now it's a mess beyond proportion and we're in the middle of it.  Al-Qaeda's current presence in Iraq is a result of our being there.  Read the facts instead of the propaganda.

History lesson.  Clinton went after Osama Bin-laden in Afghanistan and the Republican congress.  On August 20th, 1998, Clinton ordered air strikes to try and kill Bin Laden.  The Republican congress accused him of wagging the dog and told him he could not violate the sovereign nation of Afghanistan.    Here is an excerpt from a CNN article about this topic.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Clinton urged Congress Tuesday to act swiftly in developing anti-terrorism legislation before its August recess.

"We need to keep this country together right now. We need to focus on this terrorism issue," Clinton said during a White House news conference.

But while the president pushed for quick legislation, Republican lawmakers hardened their stance against some of the proposed anti-terrorism measures.

Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, R-Mississippi, doubted that the Senate would rush to action before they recess this weekend. The Senate needs to study all the options, he said, and trying to get it done in the next three days would be tough.

One key GOP senator was more critical, calling a proposed study of chemical markers in explosives "a phony issue."

 http://www.cnn.com/US/9607/30/clinton.terrorism/

Wanna know one of the issues the Republicans had a problem with?  Sure ya' do!!!  It's right there in the article.  "If they want to, they can study the thing" already, Hatch asserted. He also said he had some problems with the president's proposals to expand wiretapping.

It just so happens that Orrin Hatch voted for wiretapping under the Bush watch.  OOPS!

You think Clinton was afraid to offend Arabs?  At least he wasn't holding hands with them and kissing their terrorist butts!

If you want to engage me then I would suggenst that you know your facts.

I appreciate your opinion and the method by which you communicate your thoughts.  I do NOT appreciate the perosn who just decided to blame everything on Clinton.  Stating your opinion is good but stating opinions as if they are facts is bad.  That guy is a loose cannon.

I'm not sure how to better format my responses.  Especially when they are a reply to another post.  Maybe I'm pushing the wrong button or something.  lol.  I am open to your direction and comments about it though.  :)

Many people ARE on the fence so I hope they lean toward Obama for many reasons.

Economy...  First of all, I will say that nobody has all the answers and so we all hope that they surround themselves with smart people in each and every facet of our society.  Advisors are important.

McCain admits he is weak on economics so we must look at his overall policy ideas toward that and then look at who is advising him as well.

Two of his big advisors are Carly Fiorina and Phil Gramm.  Carly got fired from HP as their CEO after sending thousands of jobs overseas.  Phil is as crooked they come.  Here are two very important short clips to show what I mean.

So, I would be pleased to talk more about this if you have an interest.

Allthough it's very obvious you're right about the above....One only needs to investigate the Bush family riches and how they were obtained but neither Obama or McCain will improve this mess looking back in time.

What about the future as I asked?

What about the future as I asked?

Actually the Bush money came from a less obvious source.  Grandpa Prescott Bush.  He was an investment banker at Brown Brothers Harriman until their assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading With the Enemy Act.  They funneled U.S. capital into Germany during the 1920s and '30s. Among the seized companies was the Union Banking Corporation (UBC) of New York, which was controlled by German industrialist Fritz Thyssen. Thyssen had been an early financier of the Nazi party--in fact, in 1941 he published a book entitled I Paid Hitler. Ergo, Prescott helped finance the Nazis. And THAT is how the Bush family came into money.  Then it was oil and they were in business with the Saudi's AND the bin laden family.  That's all factual.  George H.W. Bush was in a meeting with Osama's brother on the morning on 9/11, in fact.

You asked about the future?  Do you mean from an economic perspective?  Let me know so that I don't write a book only to find out that you meant something else.

You Are Using Propaganda as Fact

It's a fact Somalia offered us Osama and Clinton would not accept him. It's a fact that while on a hunting trip US special forces had a shot at Osama and Clinton told them to stand down. Because an Arab emirate Family member was with him. It was after our embassies were simultaneously attacked that then Clinton shot cruise missiles into Afghanistan. Then backed down because of a little heat from the press. Then we were attacked on 9-11 then and only then Bush made them pay in Afghanistan and yes Al Qaeda was in Iraq which Bush did not back down and now Iraq is a better place Our troops have uncover many mass graves from what you call a well contained Iraq. Our troops have done a wonderful job there so you can confuse propaganda as fact. You are not using facts at all just extreme left wing propaganda and presenting it as fact. According to you Hussein and his two boys were running a nice little Nation not hurting anyone.
