Just wanted to let everyone know that Walmart owns CVS so if you want the 5 dollar prescriptions walmart offers just ask them at CVS and they will give you the same price that walmart has but you have to ask. They also match other competitors prices but like I said, You have to ask them to get the deals!

That's not right that you
That's not right that you have to ask. It should just be offered! You don't have to ask for it at Walmart.
By the way: Is it truth or rumor that we are getting a new, larger CVS. What I heard is that the bars behind CVS will be torn down to build a bigger store. Anyone know??
I heard
That CVS bought the buildings all the way over to and including Sam's Wonder Bar and the nasty looking run down apartments to the north of CVS and that they're building a "Super CVS" so to speak. With groceries, etc. If so, that would be a HUGE help to downtown, BUT I hope Sam's opens up somewhere else DOWNTOWN!!!
Great Job
JUST TO SAY GOOD JOB TO city leaders for going after and making it happen in the downtown area . Super CVS will bring lots of traffic and hopefully more shoppers down there to help our economy. Positive move on Elwoods behalf.
That's great!! On another
That's great!!
On another note: Does anyone know what is going on with the old Wheelers restaurant out on Hwy 37/13? I noticed a few months ago the sign on the front of the building was changed to "Sams".
Old Wheelers
As far as I have heard the old Wheelers on 37 was supposed to be a fresh meat market. However there was something disputed over by the farmers in that area, and I have heard it is now on hault.

anyone have any photos?
CVS vs. Wal-Mart Perscriptions
CVS - IS NOT part of the Wal-Mart organization; "CVS is a separate entity".
So, sorry you will not get a discount on pharmacy.
( Wal-Mart, Neighborhood Market & Sam's Club ).
Wal-Mart "select" prescription program is $4.00 for 30 day or $10.00 for 90 day supply.
$4 Program covers up to a 30-day supply of eligible drugs at commonly prescribed dosages. $10 Program covers a 90-day supply of eligible drugs at commonly prescribed dosages. Prices for less than a 90-day supply are prorated based on $4 Program price, not to exceed $10. Prices for more than a 90-day supply are prorated based on $10 Program price. Physician permission may be required to change 30-day prescription to 90-day prescription. Not all drugs eligible for $4 Program are eligible for $10 Program. Certain plans, including government-funded programs, may not cover a 90-day supply.
Prescription Program available at all Wal-Mart, Sam's Club & Neighborhood Markets except in ND. Only eligible drugs are covered. List may change and vary by state. Prescriptions must initially be filled in person. Refills must be picked up in store. No substitutions or mail orders. Prices may be higher in some states. Certain plans may entitle you to pay less. See Walmart.com or pharmacist for details.
Generic drugs are a lower-cost alternative to name-brand medication. If your prescription is for a name-brand medication, ask your doctor to recommend a generic alternative so that you can save money.

But!!
But the fact cvs does sell low cost at 4.00 is true and it is very true you have to ask or they will not I repeat will not tell you or offer to even let you know. And if you call in a refill even though you paid 4.00 for it before they will charge you full price. you have to bring it in everytime and request four dollar price or talk to them in person on phone or you will pay full price!
Actually
It was a lady from CVS that told me that. That's the reason I posted it.

CVS
Correct, they do not offer the information, but I've asked for and received $4 prescriptions at CVS.
CVS said they don't offer this
I called CVS and spoke w/Pharmacy asking for the $4.00 perscriptions. CVS Told me they don't offer this and they ARE NOT a participant in any program providing $4.00 prices unless the cost is $4.00.
"I investigated this on the internet and posted the findings earlier. "
I asked CVS if I asked for the $4.00 persriptions would I receive them. CVS said once again that "We Do-Not Offer Any Such Discounts or $4.00 RATES ON PERSCRIPTIONS.
CVS Stated Absolutly not.

Regarding CVS prescriptions
I called CVS yesterday and talked to the pharmacist and he told me that they DO offer $4.00 prices on some of their prescriptins. I picked mine up yesterday for $4.00.
Are you talking to the CVS in Elwood? Maybe all CVS stores don't offer this, but the one in Elwood does.
CVS
My mother ask for a list of the $4.00 perscriptions
from the CVS on highway 37. They are generic and the same thing Wal-Mart has. Her doctor picked out the $4.00 medications she could take and she went to CVS (on highway 37) and bought them for $4.00 each. She said that was about 4 weeks ago.
I have recieved the $4 Prescriptions
They said $15.00 and I said these are the $4.00 prescriptions and they said ohh sorry and changed it. You just have to ask.
$4.00
it is true..i go to the cvs out on 37 for all my meds. and they only charge me 4 bucks if i ask for it..if not they charge me through my insurance and i have to pay 10.00...but only on certain meds... not all meds. are on the program so you have to ask if it is..
clarification...
You can go onto Walmart's website under the Pharmacy tab and print out there list. I am a nurse in a physician's office in town, so I can verify that Elwood CVS's honor the $4 price only because we do not have a Walmart in town. Anderson CVS's do not honor this price. But, as other's have mentioned, you have to ASK EACH TIME for the $4 price.
yes
and you have to ask before they fill the script.... you cant wait till after or you get charged full price..... tonya
CVS $4.00 scripts
CVS does have $4.00 prices on certain scripts...you DO have to ask for them EVERY time you have one filled and/or refilled. The $4.00 price is delegated by the mg/strength also, one of the meds I have is "2.5"mg and the $4.00 CVS price is for the mg strength just under and just over the mg prescribed for me so I have to pay $35.00 for mine. Guess I need to have my Dr. change it so I can save $31.00? What baffles me is that if they can sell one medication for $4.00, why can't they do it for all and even though they are selling at $4.00 they are still making a profit on that $4.00, look at the profit on the non-discounted prices. Also if they forget and ring-up the full price, it can be changed to the discounted price.
Elwood Airport
I have been told that soon the run way at the Elwood Airport will be plowed under. I hope this isn't true. The Airport is a place that holds a lot of history. It was one of the first fly in drive in restraunts in the country. I believe it is the only one left. To let this piece of history go would be a shame. Going to the airport to eat and watching the small planes land and take off is something that brings back fond memories. The people that fly in to eat have always talked highly of the airport. If the air strip is taken away, this will be a sad day in Elwood history. I know kids and adults still get a kick out of watching as the planes come and go. Lets keep the planes coming and going in Elwood.
i heard
someone once told me alec baldwin flew his little plane there and ate.... is that true or just someones tall tale?
I learned to fly at
I learned to fly at Sheridan, Indiana in the early 60s. I have fond memories of flying up to Elwood and having the car- err, make that plane-hop bring me a cheeseburger and coke.

Elwood Airport
Yes the airport is closed. The runways have been marked as so. My husband had to hanger his plane in Marion. Cattails Golf Course is also closing. Beyond the Greens Restuarant consequently had to close due to leasing from Cattails. I hate to see both of these businesses close down. As stated previously the airport has so much history and Beyond the Greens had excellent food.
IS
the golf course closed for good? What about the one in Anderson he owns?
Golf Course
From what I have heard the one in Anderson (Edgewood) is closed or closing.
Golf Course
I heard that both courses are going to auction sometime this year. Someone said the starting bid for Elwood is going to be $800,000.
$$
It would be a steal at .8 million depending on the details.
WHAT!
I HAD NO IDEA THAT THE GOLF COURSE WAS CLOSING. I MUST LIVE UNDER A ROCK. WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN? ANYTHING ELSE GOING UNDER?
